Transformation of the mind
avatar04

In the year 2154 humans are mining a valuable mineral on Pandora in
the Alpha Centauri star system… Like many others I have seen the film
Avatar by James Cameron.     Since its release in December 2009 it has
become the highest grossing film ever.

Avatar is described as an “action adventure journey of self-discovery” (Wikipedia).
I would like to add it is a story of the transformation of the mind. I think that is part
of the reason why it has become so popular. We are all engaged in it, but not all
of us are consciously aware of it.

Eckhart Tolle and Kim Eng about relationships

The beginning of the end of the world

Today I stumbled on a wonderful article about relationships; an interview with Eckhart Tolle by Kim Eng, his partner. She says people often think it must be so wonderful to be in a relationship with Eckhart and ask her about it. I read something else she wrote some years ago, and then Kim said she found this a very strange question – how can someone be in relationship with anyone? I am not sure if I remember her words correctly, but I remember the frustration I felt when I read it. I don’t remember if she tried to explain what she meant – but if she did, I didn’t get it though.

Meeting with Jørgen Rustad, the oldest man in Norway

Jørgen 109 years old

A week has passed since I was in Gjøvik with Berit Ås and her younger sister Gunhild and met the oldest man in Norway: Jørgen Bernhard Rustad. He is 109 years old! It was a beautiful old man, looking more like 80 than almost 110! Gerd, his friend and companion since many years, was 86 years old and came down to meet us in the foyer so we would find our way through the long corridors – and she made coffee for us. I don’t drink coffee – but for her I had to make an exception. We felt so welcome!
